Zander Identity Theft Protection Review
While Zander Insurance may not have the name recognition of other national brands, they’re still trusted by many to provide excellent coverage on health, disability, life, property and identity. They use white labeled services from ID Experts, meaning they’ve used their brand to sell another company’s services. Zander has done so because they trust ID Experts to supply their customers with valuable protection so they don’t have to worry about the hassles and emotional worry of identity theft. Their services focuses on restoring your credit and name after a breach, but there are proactive measures too.
What We Like
Zander’s ID protection product instills at the top of the page that no one can guarantee against identity theft, and this is true. Todd Davis of LifeLock famously had his social security number stolen when he decided to advertise it. As fast as technology advances, thieves are advancing at an even faster pace. These masterminds who should be devoting their services to government security are instead going after regular people just like you. The last thing you want to do when you’ve had something happen to you is take hours out of your day trying to resolve it. It’s not worth the time or hassle of calling off work, disconnected phone calls with long hold times, and the endless forms you’ll need to fill out for the police and to restore your credit cards.
Zander Identity Theft Protection wants to get you back to where you used to be before the breach, and they’ve pulled out all the stops to do so. Their services also include scanning the internet to see exactly where your information is located so problems can be detected before they become full-blown disasters. For $6.75 a month (or even less if you buy the annual plan), this is a very good deal.
What We Don’t Like
Their site states that they will provide access to your credit reports, opt out programs, fraud alerts and credit freezes. It does not state that it will do any of these things for you though, but rather just appears to give information about them. Credit monitoring is extremely important as it’s often the first place people will spot a discrepancy. It also gives you information about the hottest scams out there, but it can be difficult to keep up with all the ways criminals are trying to get to you. That’s why you have this service to begin with — so you can just live your life without worry. In the same vein, you get reminders about your credit reports 3 times a year as opposed to daily monitoring and alerts from the companies.
The Bottom Line
We’re not suggesting there isn’t a reason to understand how identity theft works as it seems that Zander ID Protection really wants to educate the consumer with their plans. The more informed you are, the more empowered you’ll be to make a difference when it comes to your own protection. There’s a lot this plan has to offer for such a low price in terms of getting you back on your feet. Zander Identity Theft Protection is honest about how they’re incapable of guaranteeing you won’t be a victim altogether and their realistic attitude should be appreciated rather than mocked. However, there does seem to be a lot of emphasis given to what will happen afterward rather than before.
How Zander Identity Theft Protection Works
Proactive: Zander provides you with tips and information about the latest scams and fraud practices so you can do more to prevent theft. It also monitors online to see if your personal data is on the wrong site, like the black market thieves use to buy or trade your info. Receive tools and newsletters so you can understand how identity theft works.
Restoration: Receive total assistance when it comes to restoring your good name. You’ll receive an advocate who will handle every stage of the way throughout the process. Any disputes that arise from the fraud are handled by your advocate. Between benefits, social security, insurance and financial accounts, this could wind up being a great deal of work. They offer a 100% recovery success rate, and unlimited services to get it all done. They’ll remove bogus criminal charges or financial fraud from credit reports, so you can continue to enjoy the benefits of an unblemished identity.
Reimbursement: Receive reimbursement up to $1 million dollars for stolen funds, lost wages, application fees for loans and grants, long distance phone calls, notarizing services, etc. Lost wages can be up to $7,500 a week for a maximum of 4 weeks if you need to take off work. There is no deductible on this plan, and it also covers legal fees should there be any type of suit against you.

Zander Identity Theft Protection Additional Info
Zander the independent insurance brokerage has been around for over 80 years, and the company has developed their name based on offering honest and valuable services to the average citizen. One important thing to note is that identity theft is mentioned on their About page, which suggests that this is very much a priority for them. You certainly won’t find this information listed on a lot of companies that white label, because it’s more of an after-thought. For example, Costco will talk about their amazing discounts to families and companies on their History page, not their outstanding identity theft coverage.

Larry's review of Zander ID Protection
Reading some of the reviews here, I think there is some misunderstanding about what this product is. This is not credit MONITORING where a company keeps watch over your credit reports for new accounts and contacts you with changes. You don’t need to pay someone to do this for you, you can do that yourself for free by signing up for Credit Karma.
What Zanders offers is a credit RECOVERY service. If someone steals your identity, and opens accounts, you will get the bills and collection attempts for those fraudulent purchases. Zander takes on the responsibilities of working with those creditors to file disputes, police reports, fraud alerts, credit agency disputes etc. so you don’t have to fret over it all. That work is very time consuming and if you do it yourself you have the added frustration of your feelings of anger and victimization that get in the way of resolving it in a process that can take months or even a few years. The average identity theft takes over 600 hours of work to resolve, sometimes sending the same paperwork to a creditor several times before they release you from paying a bill you didn’t charge. That is why I have Zander’s credit recovery service.
Tom's review of Zander ID Protection
While is was with Zander insurance identity protection, they would send me notices saying everything was great, no problems. After the year subscription I felt there where doing nothing. I did not renew but they still tried to auto charge me. A month later I was contacted by Bank of America about a credit card opened in my name of $12,000. Lucky for me no one used it. It was during there protection period. Don’t use them!
Jeffrey C.'s review of Zander ID Protection
Horrible customer service and their website is also pretty bad, the new system split up what was a single family account and the whole thing a colossal mess now. Cancelling in 3, 2, 1….
Jeff M.'s review of Zander ID Protection
I have been a victim of id theft twice this year with my debit card. Zander caught nothing. When I called to get assistance, there was nothing they could do. When I called again to get a better answer as to what i am paying for in my policy, I got a confused woman at the call center who cancelled the service and then reinstated me and said that she would have someone call me to discuss my policy. And I’m still waiting for that call. I think I am ready to cut these apron strings. I love Dave Ramsey, but I do not like this service.
Tony C.'s review of Zander ID Protection
I am trying to get in touch with Zander ID to see what I am getting for my monthly investment that is being deducted from my Checking Account. I have experienced fraud twice since I signed up with them and no one has reached out to me, I have not received any emails and never received any advice on how to improve my situation. Dave Ramsey is a very credible person and unfortunately Zander ID is slowly damaging that credibility in my opinion. Still like Dave, Zander is not on the top of my list and will cancel this week if no one can help me understand what I am paying for.
Julee K.'s review of Zander ID Protection
You can not reach anybody on their 24/7 help line and when you opt to have them call you back it never happens. I am in the process of trying ro figure out how to cancel mine right now.
